About 120 local government officials, state and federal agency staff, attorneys, real estate professionals, and environmental consultants gathered at the Riverhouse in Bend, OR for the event. They discussed many aspects of the brownfields redevelopment process including: public sources of financial assistance, private sector financing, insurance, environmental assessment and cleanup, and community involvement in the redevelopment process.
Other partners in the conference were Rural Development Initiatives, Inc. and Northwest Environmental Business Council. Private sponsors of the conference included Brownfield's Development LLC, Ater Wynne LLP, AIG Consultants, Inc., AMEC, Inc., Bergeson-Boese & Associated, Inc., Portland Brownfields Showcase Program, and Neek Engineering. The U. S. EPA also assisted with conference funding.
